The director walks in. He a tall man with graying hair that was once black, probably from this high stress environment, wearing a nice black suit with a name tag on it, playing the role of a bank manager. His name tag said James Smith, but that wasn't his real name, I don't even know his real name, just like he doesn't know mine. It was safer that way, in this business it was best to separate personal from work. To me he was simply the director. "So what is the mater with my bank account this time?" I ask, it was the code word, at one point the code word was, what is the matter with my bank account, but with me coming her so often we changed it to that. "Here take a look and see" he said passing me the case folder across the smooth table and directly to me, you could tell he had done that a few times before. I open it up and read.
...You will find and look for an enemy spy with the assumed name of Vladimir Dyachenko. He is one of the U.S.S.R.'s best spys, so be careful. Try to get close to him, figure out what he knows, and destroy it, or copy it depending on what the information is. If you find him to be to big a threat to the U.S. kill him. He is to big a threat to let live if you can help it...
The mission went on into more detail after that, describing what we knew of his childhood, what they suspected he looked like, pictures they caught on tape with him and much more. "I'm a spy killer now, am I?" I ask a bit more angrily then I expected.
"No, if you don't want to kill him, we will send someone else to. We just want you to find him and figure out what he knows and therefor what the U.S.S.R knows"
"Okay then thank you for your help, I'm glad to see that the problem with my bank account wasn't as bad as I thought" I say the code phrase for, I'm taking this mission.
The Director nodded, "Go out the back door and someone will help you finish sorting this out" and what he actually meant was, get your little gadgets to help you, then leave and work quickly.
I take the mission briefing with me and walk out,
Vladimir your all mine I think as a walk out the room.
